In March 2019 Christies in New York held the auction South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art, which included the work Untitled (Passing Cloud) by Hemendranath Mazumdar. The »bidding war« ended at USD 15,000.00 (€ 13,359.46), 67% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hemendranath Mazumdar achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Abhiman (Wounded Vanity) in June 2018 with an auction result of GBP 413,750.00 (€ 467,608.01).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 67 % übertroffen
Im März 2019 führte Christies in New York die Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Passing Cloud) von Hemendranath Mazumdar zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 15.000,00 (€ 13.359,46) und damit 67% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hemendranath Mazumdar erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Abhiman (Wounded Vanity) im Juni 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 413.750,00 (€ 467.608,01).
