Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Untitled (Country Flower) by Hemendranath Mazumdar was sold in the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art auction at Christies in London in June 2019. It achieved a price of GBP 72,500.00 (€ 81,500.75), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 21%. Admittedly, works by Hemendranath Mazumdar have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Abhiman (Wounded Vanity) in June 2018 with an auction result of GBP 413,750.00 (€ 467,608.01).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Untitled (Country Flower) von Hemendranath Mazumdar wurde im Juni 2019 in der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 72.500,00 (€ 81.500,75) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 21%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Hemendranath Mazumdar auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Abhiman (Wounded Vanity) im Juni 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 413.750,00 (€ 467.608,01).
