In June 2009 Sothebys in London held the auction Indian Art, which included this untitled work by Hemendranath Mazumdar. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 25,000.00 (€ 29,336.66), 25% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hemendranath Mazumdar achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Abhiman (Wounded Vanity) in June 2018 with an auction result of GBP 413,750.00 (€ 467,608.01).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im Juni 2009 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Indian Art durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Hemendranath Mazumdar zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 25.000,00 (€ 29.336,66) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hemendranath Mazumdar erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Abhiman (Wounded Vanity) im Juni 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 413.750,00 (€ 467.608,01).
