This artwork by Hemendranath Mazumdar achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in September 2006. In the Indian Art Including Miniatures & Modern Indian Paintings auction, the work without title sold for USD 45,000.00 (€ 35,469.38) - well above the upper estimate of USD 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hemendranath Mazumdar achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Abhiman (Wounded Vanity) in June 2018 with an auction result of GBP 413,750.00 (€ 467,608.01).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Hemendranath Mazumdar erzielte im September 2006 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Indian Art Including Miniatures & Modern Indian Paintings wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 45.000,00 (€ 35.469,38) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 20.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hemendranath Mazumdar erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Abhiman (Wounded Vanity) im Juni 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 413.750,00 (€ 467.608,01).
