Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2001 Christies in New York held the auction Indian and Southeast Asian art including 20th Century, which included the work Music by Hemendranath Mazumdar. The price achieved of USD 15,275.00 (€ 16,985.43) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hemendranath Mazumdar achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Abhiman (Wounded Vanity) in June 2018 with an auction result of GBP 413,750.00 (€ 467,608.01).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2001 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Indian and Southeast Asian art including 20th Century durch, in der auch die Arbeit Music von Hemendranath Mazumdar zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 15.275,00 (€ 16.985,43) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hemendranath Mazumdar erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Abhiman (Wounded Vanity) im Juni 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 413.750,00 (€ 467.608,01).
