In April 2001 Christies in Singapore held the auction SOUTHEAST ASIAN PICTURES AND 20TH CENTURY INDIAN PICTURES, which included the work Girl with the pitcher by Hemendranath Mazumdar. The »bidding war« ended at SGD 42,300.00 (€ 26,174.14), 69% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hemendranath Mazumdar achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Abhiman (Wounded Vanity) in June 2018 with an auction result of GBP 413,750.00 (€ 467,608.01).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 69 % übertroffen
Im April 2001 führte Christies in Singapur die Auktion SOUTHEAST ASIAN PICTURES AND 20TH CENTURY INDIAN PICTURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit Girl with the pitcher von Hemendranath Mazumdar zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von SGD 42.300,00 (€ 26.174,14) und damit 69% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hemendranath Mazumdar erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Abhiman (Wounded Vanity) im Juni 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 413.750,00 (€ 467.608,01).
