Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Hellen van Meene could be acquired at Phillips in London in February 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, this work without title changed hands for GBP 125.00 (€ 163.50) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hellen van Meene achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Selected Images in October 2021 with an auction result of USD 6,300.00 (€ 5,453.60).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Hellen van Meene konnte im Februar 2008 bei Phillips in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Sale wechselte diese Arbeit ohne Titel für GBP 125,00 (€ 163,50) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hellen van Meene erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Selected Images im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 6.300,00 (€ 5.453,60).
