Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2012 Sothebys in London held the auction British & Irish Art, which included the work Café In Vienna by Hector McDonnell. It changed hands for a price of GBP 5,625.00 (€ 7,008.50) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Hector McDonnell have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Warner Dailey's Kitchen in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 21,600.00 (€ 31,785.86).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2012 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion British & Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Café In Vienna von Hector McDonnell zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 5.625,00 (€ 7.008,50) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Hector McDonnell auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Warner Dailey's Kitchen im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 21.600,00 (€ 31.785,86).
