Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2019 Sothebys in London held the auction Irish Art, which included the work Near Grand Central Station by Hector McDonnell. The price achieved of GBP 5,625.00 (€ 6,605.13) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by Hector McDonnell have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Warner Dailey's Kitchen in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 21,600.00 (€ 31,785.86).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2019 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Near Grand Central Station von Hector McDonnell zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 5.625,00 (€ 6.605,13) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Hector McDonnell auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Warner Dailey's Kitchen im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 21.600,00 (€ 31.785,86).
