This artwork by Harry Morley achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in June 2005. In the 20th Century British Art auction, the work Andromeda sold for GBP 2,640.00 (€ 3,912.65) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,200.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Harry Morley - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Covent Garden, which sold at auction in November 2007 for GBP 9,375.00 (€ 13,127.43).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Harry Morley erzielte im Juni 2005 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century British Art wurde die Arbeit Andromeda für GBP 2.640,00 (€ 3.912,65) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.200,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Harry Morley mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Covent Garden beobachtet, die im November 2007 für GBP 9.375,00 (€ 13.127,43) versteigert wurde.
