In November 2002 Christies in Los Angeles held the auction CALIFORNIA, WESTERN AND AMERICAN PAINTINGS, which included the work Fairies and Bubbles by Harold Gaze. The »bidding war« ended at USD 5,975.00 (€ 6,015.91), 20% above the upper estimate. With this result, Fairies and Bubbles is even the most expensive work of art by Harold Gaze that we have observed at auctions so far.
