Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Fairy on a Swing by Harold Gaze was sold in the Original Illustration Art from the Collections of Kendra and Allan Daniel auction at Sothebys in New York in April 2011. The price achieved of USD 2,813.00 (€ 1,897.98) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,500.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Harold Gaze - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Fairies and Bubbles, which sold at auction in November 2002 for USD 5,975.00 (€ 6,015.91).

Die Arbeit Fairy on a Swing von Harold Gaze wurde im April 2011 in der Auktion Original Illustration Art from the Collections of Kendra and Allan Daniel bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 2.813,00 (€ 1.897,98) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 2.500,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Harold Gaze mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Fairies and Bubbles beobachtet, die im November 2002 für USD 5.975,00 (€ 6.015,91) versteigert wurde.
