Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2020 a collector was able to acquire the work Atlantic City, New Jersey by Hannah Wilke for USD 10,080.00 (€ 8,436.56). This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Art Day Auction: Online at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hannah Wilke achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work S.O.S. Starification Object Series in September 2017 with an auction result of USD 708,500.00 (€ 599,762.97).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im November 2020 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Atlantic City, New Jersey von Hannah Wilke für USD 10.080,00 (€ 8.436,56) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction: Online bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hannah Wilke erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit S.O.S. Starification Object Series im September 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 708.500,00 (€ 599.762,97).
