Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction Contemporary Art | London, which included the work March 2002 by Hannah Starkey. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,008.00 (€ 1,174.32) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hannah Starkey achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled, February, August, October, 1998-1999 in April 2006 with an auction result of USD 15,600.00 (€ 12,357.41).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August 2021 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Contemporary Art | London durch, in der auch die Arbeit March 2002 von Hannah Starkey zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.008,00 (€ 1.174,32) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hannah Starkey erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled, February, August, October, 1998-1999 im April 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 15.600,00 (€ 12.357,41).
