Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Careful, May 14Th 1986 by Hank O'Neal was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in October 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,375.00 (€ 1,232.63). Other works by Hank O'Neal have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in October 2019 by the work The Red Door, April 18Th 1986 at USD 1,500.00 (€ 1,344.69).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Careful, May 14Th 1986 von Hank O'Neal im Oktober 2019 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.375,00 (€ 1.232,63) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Hank O'Neal wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Oktober 2019 die Arbeit The Red Door, April 18Th 1986 mit USD 1.500,00 (€ 1.344,69).
