Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2010 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale), which included the work Deme-tai; Evil Beast g-1; Evil Beast h-1; Hitode-uo; Homo Pumilus Gidoronlegio; Hotate-gani; Invidia Miguel; & Superbia Miguel by Hajime Emoto. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 80,000.00 – 160,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 93,750.00 (€ 9,262.81) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hajime Emoto - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Hammerhead Turtle; Romanian Dragon; Celtic Dragon; Crow Fish (Karasu-uo); Ashura gani; Evil Beast/Skeleton; Chochinimo-modoki; Mr. and Mrs. Frog; Bush Crocodile; & Sansho Unagi, which sold at auction in May 2010 for HKD 312,500.00 (€ 32,465.24).
