Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Relieve Madí by Gyula Kosice was auctioned at Christies in New York in May 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 16,250.00 (€ 14,780.79) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gyula Kosice - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Televisor Hidraulizado 2, which sold at auction in November 2007 for USD 73,000.00 (€ 49,700.44).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Relieve Madí von Gyula Kosice kam im Mai 2015 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 16.250,00 (€ 14.780,79) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Gyula Kosice mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Televisor Hidraulizado 2 beobachtet, die im November 2007 für USD 73.000,00 (€ 49.700,44) versteigert wurde.
