This work of art by Gysbrecht Leytens could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in January 2010 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Important Old Master Paintings and Sculpture auction, the work A Winter Landscape With Men Returning From The Hunt, And A Woman With A Child On Horseback changed hands for USD 37,500.00 (€ 27,036.77) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gysbrecht Leytens achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Winter Landscape With Hunters On A Forest Track And Children Playing On A Frozen River, Villages Beyond in November 2006 with an auction result of EUR 381,600.00.
