In November 2010 Sothebys in London held the auction The Robert Devereux Collection of Post-War British Art in aid of the African Arts Trust, Sale 1, which included the work ...Mainly On The Plains by Gwyther Irwin. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 21,250.00 (€ 25,393.72), 42% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gwyther Irwin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work West Of Thornton, which sold at auction in July 2007 for GBP 45,600.00 (€ 67,726.53).

Im November 2010 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion The Robert Devereux Collection of Post-War British Art in aid of the African Arts Trust, Sale 1 durch, in der auch die Arbeit ...Mainly On The Plains von Gwyther Irwin zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 21.250,00 (€ 25.393,72) und damit 42% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Gwyther Irwin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit West Of Thornton beobachtet, die im Juli 2007 für GBP 45.600,00 (€ 67.726,53) versteigert wurde.
