This artwork by Guy Grey-Smith achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Melbourne in August 2007. In the Important Australian Art Including Selected International Works auction, the work Australian Ravine sold for AUD 38,400.00 (€ 22,962.30) - well above the upper estimate of AUD 15,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Guy Grey-Smith; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Mount Vernon, 1961 sold at auction in September 2020 with the realized price of AUD 39,040.00 (€ 33,316.27).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Guy Grey-Smith erzielte im August 2007 bei Sothebys in Melbourne einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Important Australian Art Including Selected International Works wurde die Arbeit Australian Ravine für AUD 38.400,00 (€ 22.962,30) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von AUD 15.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Guy Grey-Smith; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Mount Vernon, 1961 im September 2020 mit dem Hammerpreis von AUD 39.040,00 (€ 33.316,27).
