This artwork by Guy Grey-Smith achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Melbourne in May 2002. In the AUSTRALIAN AND INTERNATIONAL PAINTINGS auction, the work Bunkers Bay sold for AUD 18,800.00 (€ 11,393.94) - well above the upper estimate of AUD 10,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Guy Grey-Smith - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Mount Vernon, 1961, which sold at auction in September 2020 for AUD 39,040.00 (€ 33,316.27).
