Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Towards Ninghan by Guy Grey-Smith was sold in the AUSTRALIAN AND INTERNATIONAL PAINTINGS auction at Christies in Melbourne in May 2002. It changed hands for a price of AUD 23,500.00 (€ 14,242.42) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of AUD 18,000.00 – 25,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Guy Grey-Smith - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Mount Vernon, 1961, which sold at auction in September 2020 for AUD 39,040.00 (€ 33,316.27).

Die Arbeit Towards Ninghan von Guy Grey-Smith wurde im Mai 2002 in der Auktion AUSTRALIAN AND INTERNATIONAL PAINTINGS bei Christies in Melbourne versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von AUD 23.500,00 (€ 14.242,42) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von AUD 18.000,00 – 25.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Guy Grey-Smith mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Mount Vernon, 1961 beobachtet, die im September 2020 für AUD 39.040,00 (€ 33.316,27) versteigert wurde.
