Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Hakea by Guy Grey-Smith was auctioned at Christies in Melbourne in August 2005. The price achieved of AUD 2,151.00 (€ 1,310.84) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 1,800.00 – 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Guy Grey-Smith achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Mount Vernon, 1961 in September 2020 with an auction result of AUD 39,040.00 (€ 33,316.27).

Die Arbeit Hakea von Guy Grey-Smith kam im August 2005 bei Christies in Melbourne zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 2.151,00 (€ 1.310,84) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 1.800,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Guy Grey-Smith erzielen.
