In August 2005 Christies in Melbourne held the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS, which included the work Fremantle by Guy Grey-Smith. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 1,434.00 (€ 873.89), 59% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Guy Grey-Smith achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Mount Vernon, 1961 in September 2020 with an auction result of AUD 39,040.00 (€ 33,316.27).

Im August 2005 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Fremantle von Guy Grey-Smith zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von AUD 1.434,00 (€ 873,89) und damit 59% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Guy Grey-Smith erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Mount Vernon, 1961 im September 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 39.040,00 (€ 33.316,27).
