This artwork by Gusti Agung Mangu Putra achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2007. In the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art auction, the work Menuju sembahyang purnama (Full moon prayer) sold for HKD 144,000.00 (€ 13,711.74) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 55,000.00. Admittedly, works by Gusti Agung Mangu Putra have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sabang Sampai Merauke in November 2021 with an auction result of HKD 504,000.00 (€ 56,039.69).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Gusti Agung Mangu Putra erzielte im Mai 2007 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art wurde die Arbeit Menuju sembahyang purnama (Full moon prayer) für HKD 144.000,00 (€ 13.711,74) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 55.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gusti Agung Mangu Putra auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sabang Sampai Merauke im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 504.000,00 (€ 56.039,69).
