In October 2008 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings, which included the work Menuju Keheningan (Towards Serenity) by Gusti Agung Mangu Putra. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 200,000.00 (€ 20,343.79), 33% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gusti Agung Mangu Putra - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sabang Sampai Merauke, which sold at auction in November 2021 for HKD 504,000.00 (€ 56,039.69).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 33 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2008 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Menuju Keheningan (Towards Serenity) von Gusti Agung Mangu Putra zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 200.000,00 (€ 20.343,79) und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Gusti Agung Mangu Putra mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sabang Sampai Merauke beobachtet, die im November 2021 für HKD 504.000,00 (€ 56.039,69) versteigert wurde.
