Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2019 Sothebys in Paris held the auction Œuvres sur Papier, which included the work Le Paysan Du Danube by Gustave Moreau. The price achieved of EUR 31,250.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gustave Moreau achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La Chimère in November 2004 with an auction result of GBP 677,250.00 (€ 974,220.47).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2019 führte Sothebys in Paris die Auktion Œuvres sur Papier durch, in der auch die Arbeit Le Paysan Du Danube von Gustave Moreau zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 31.250,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gustave Moreau erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit La Chimère im November 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 677.250,00 (€ 974.220,47).
