Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2015 Christies in New York held the auction Interiors, which included the work Antwerp by Gustave Mascart. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,625.00 (€ 1,456.88) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Gustave Mascart have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sur la Plage in June 2005 with an auction result of GBP 9,600.00 (€ 14,227.81).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2015 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit Antwerp von Gustave Mascart zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.625,00 (€ 1.456,88) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gustave Mascart auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sur la Plage im Juni 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 9.600,00 (€ 14.227,81).
