Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Mediterranean with Mount Agde by Gustave Le Gray was sold in the The Odyssey of Collecting: Photographs from Joy of Giving Something Foundation, Part 2 auction at Phillips in New York in April 2017. It achieved a price of USD 35,000.00 (€ 32,124.83), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 17%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gustave Le Gray achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bateaux quittant le port du Havre (navires de la flotte de Napoleon III), 1856-1857 in February 2016 with an auction result of USD 965,000.00 (€ 887,927.86).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Mediterranean with Mount Agde von Gustave Le Gray wurde im April 2017 in der Auktion The Odyssey of Collecting: Photographs from Joy of Giving Something Foundation, Part 2 bei Phillips in New York versteigert.
