Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2016 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Modern Paintings, which included the work Calligraphy by Guo Moruo. It changed hands for a price of HKD 87,500.00 (€ 10,662.46) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 70,000.00 – 90,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Guo Moruo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy In Xingshu in October 2014 with an auction result of HKD 2,080,000.00 (€ 214,142.06).
