Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of the artist, bust-length, in black, a collar and a wide-brimmed hat by Guido Reni was auctioned at Christies in London in October 2015. The price achieved of GBP 8,125.00 (€ 11,364.85) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Guido Reni achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work David With The Head Of Goliath in July 2012 with an auction result of GBP 3,177,250.00 (€ 4,046,962.53).
