Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A good read by Guglielmo Zocchi was sold in the 19th Century European Art Including Russian Pictures auction at Christies in London in March 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 10,200.00 (€ 15,013.23) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Guglielmo Zocchi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Centre Of Attention, which sold at auction in September 2013 for GBP 27,500.00 (€ 32,872.00).
