This artwork by Gu Gan achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in September 2019. In the Fine Chinese Paintings auction, the work Three Men sold for USD 5,000.00 (€ 4,585.05) - well above the upper estimate of USD 2,300.00. Admittedly, works by Gu Gan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Concern With No Obstruction in April 2007 with an auction result of HKD 300,000.00 (€ 28,089.31).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Gu Gan erzielte im September 2019 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings wurde die Arbeit Three Men für USD 5.000,00 (€ 4.585,05) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 2.300,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gu Gan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Concern With No Obstruction im April 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 300.000,00 (€ 28.089,31).
