Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Unknown by Graham Clarke was sold in the British, Continental and Russian Pictures auction at Christies in London in December 2006. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 200.00 – 300.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 216.00 (€ 320.57) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Graham Clarke have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A collection of four woodcuts in colours comprising Hay Field Timberden, Timberden, Lane to Filsdon and Hill at Woodlands (illustrated), on wove paper, each signed, titled and inscribed (proof) in pencil, with margins, apparently in good condition, unexam in February 2008 with an auction result of GBP 1,000.00 (€ 1,3
