Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Quite Cricket by Graham Clarke was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2006, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 200.00 – 300.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 180.00 (€ 267.14). Admittedly, works by Graham Clarke have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A collection of four woodcuts in colours comprising Hay Field Timberden, Timberden, Lane to Filsdon and Hill at Woodlands (illustrated), on wove paper, each signed, titled and inscribed (proof) in pencil, with margins, apparently in good condition, unexam in February 2008 with an auction result of GBP 1,000.00 (€ 1,3
