Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2004 Christies in Melbourne held the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS, which included the work Rocky Bush by Grace Cossington Smith. The price achieved of AUD 17,925.00 (€ 10,473.00) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Grace Cossington Smith achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Still Life With Jugs in May 2004 with an auction result of AUD 203,150.00 (€ 118,694.01).

Im Mai 2004 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Rocky Bush von Grace Cossington Smith zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 17.925,00 (€ 10.473,00) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Grace Cossington Smith erzielen.
