Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In April 2006 Christies in Melbourne held the auction Australian, International & Contemporary Paintings Part II, which included the work After The Bushfire by Grace Cossington Smith. Here, the upper estimate of AUD 12,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for AUD 13,145.00 (€ 7,906.37). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Grace Cossington Smith achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Still Life With Jugs in May 2004 with an auction result of AUD 203,150.00 (€ 118,694.01).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im April 2006 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion Australian, International & Contemporary Paintings Part II durch, in der auch die Arbeit After The Bushfire von Grace Cossington Smith zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von AUD 12.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für AUD 13.145,00 (€ 7.906,37) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Grace Cossington Smith erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Still Life With Jugs im Mai 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 203.150,00 (€ 118.694,01).
