Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Mite, a terrier by Gourlay Steell was auctioned at Christies in London in June 2003. The price achieved of GBP 1,175.00 (€ 1,688.54) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gourlay Steell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Master's Best Friend in October 2015 with an auction result of USD 52,500.00 (€ 47,545.73).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Mite, a terrier von Gourlay Steell kam im Juni 2003 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.175,00 (€ 1.688,54) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gourlay Steell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Master's Best Friend im Oktober 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 52.500,00 (€ 47.545,73).
