This artwork by Goshka Macuga achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in London in March last year. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work Untitled 5 (Aby Warburg Photograph, April 1896, Pueblo woman escaping into her house at the sight of Warburg’s camera) sold for GBP 11,340.00 (€ 13,444.85) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Goshka Macuga - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Madame Blavatsky, which sold at auction in October 2015 for GBP 37,500.00 (€ 52,453.13).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Goshka Macuga erzielte im März letzten Jahres bei Phillips in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Untitled 5 (Aby Warburg Photograph, April 1896, Pueblo woman escaping into her house at the sight of Warburg’s camera) für GBP 11.340,00 (€ 13.444,85) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 6.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Goshka Macuga mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Madame Blavatsky beobachtet, die im Oktober 2015 für GBP 37.500,00 (€ 52.453,13) versteigert wurde.
