A top price for Gopal Ghose - as previously expected
The work Untitled (Forest Scenes) by Gopal Ghose was sold in the The India Sale - South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art auction at Christies in Mumbai in December 2016. The price achieved of INR 437,500.00 (€ 6,094.82) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as INR 350,000.00 – 500,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Untitled (Forest Scenes) is the most expensive artwork by Gopal Ghose that we have observed at auctions so far.

Die Arbeit Untitled (Forest Scenes) von Gopal Ghose wurde im Dezember 2016 in der Auktion The India Sale - South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art bei Christies in Mumbai versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von INR 437.500,00 (€ 6.094,82) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit INR 350.000,00 – 500.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Untitled (Forest Scenes) das teuerste Kunstwerk von Gopal Ghose, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
