Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2019 a collector was able to acquire the work Untitled (Set Of Two) by Gopal Ghose for USD 3,000.00 (€ 2,751.03). This price was achieved in the auction Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art Online at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gopal Ghose - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (Forest Scenes), which sold at auction in December 2016 for INR 437,500.00 (€ 6,094.82).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im September 2019 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Untitled (Set Of Two) von Gopal Ghose für USD 3.000,00 (€ 2.751,03) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art Online bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Gopal Ghose mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (Forest Scenes) beobachtet, die im Dezember 2016 für INR 437.500,00 (€ 6.094,82) versteigert wurde.
