Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2019 a collector was able to acquire the work Palash; Village Path by Gopal Ghose for USD 3,250.00 (€ 2,894.55). This price was achieved in the auction Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gopal Ghose - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (Forest Scenes), which sold at auction in December 2016 for INR 437,500.00 (€ 6,094.82).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März 2019 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Palash; Village Path von Gopal Ghose für USD 3.250,00 (€ 2.894,55) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Gopal Ghose mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (Forest Scenes) beobachtet, die im Dezember 2016 für INR 437.500,00 (€ 6.094,82) versteigert wurde.
