Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Untitled (drawing 7) by Golnaz Fathi was auctioned at Bonhams in London in March 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 2,550.00 (€ 2,995.59). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Golnaz Fathi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Unwritten in October 2007 with an auction result of USD 55,000.00 (€ 38,014.93).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Untitled (drawing 7) von Golnaz Fathi im März 2021 bei Bonhams in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 2.550,00 (€ 2.995,59) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Golnaz Fathi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Unwritten im Oktober 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 55.000,00 (€ 38.014,93).
