In April 2018 Christies in New York held the auction Old Masters Part II, which included the work Two Maids By Candlelight by Godfried Schalcken. The result of USD 20,000.00 (€ 16,564.52) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Godfried Schalcken achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Parable Of The Lost Piece Of Silver in July 2007 with an auction result of GBP 378,400.00 (€ 562,011.35).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im April 2018 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Masters Part II durch, in der auch die Arbeit Two Maids By Candlelight von Godfried Schalcken zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 20.000,00 (€ 16.564,52) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Godfried Schalcken erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Parable Of The Lost Piece Of Silver im Juli 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 378.400,00 (€ 562.011,35).
