Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of Andre Eglevsky by Glyn Warren Philpot was sold in the Modern & Post War British Art Day Sale auction at Sothebys in London in June 2021. The price achieved of GBP 69,300.00 (€ 80,752.52) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Admittedly, works by Glyn Warren Philpot have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Head of a Negro in March 2015 with an auction result of GBP 302,500.00 (€ 418,222.23).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait of Andre Eglevsky von Glyn Warren Philpot wurde im Juni 2021 in der Auktion Modern & Post War British Art Day Sale bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 69.300,00 (€ 80.752,52) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Glyn Warren Philpot auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Head of a Negro im März 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 302.500,00 (€ 418.222,23).
