In June this year Christies in London held the auction The Robin and Rupert Hambro Collection, which included the work Seated Model in the Studio (Henry Thomas) by Glyn Warren Philpot. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 189,000.00 (€ 219,963.46), 58% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Glyn Warren Philpot; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Head of a Negro sold at auction in March 2015 with the realized price of GBP 302,500.00 (€ 418,222.23).

Im Juni diesen Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion The Robin and Rupert Hambro Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Seated Model in the Studio (Henry Thomas) von Glyn Warren Philpot zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 189.000,00 (€ 219.963,46) und damit 58% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Glyn Warren Philpot; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Head of a Negro im März 2015 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 302.500,00 (€ 418.222,23).
