Auction result well in line with expectations
The work An architectural capriccio of classical ruins with Alexander visiting the Tomb of Achilles by Giuseppe Zocchi was sold in the Old Masters Day Sale auction at Christies in London in December 2016. The price achieved of GBP 68,750.00 (€ 80,379.90) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giuseppe Zocchi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Tiber River, Rome, looking towards the Castel Sant'Angelo, with Saint Peter's Basilica beyond in April 2017 with an auction result of USD 1,207,500.00 (€ 1,108,306.56).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit An architectural capriccio of classical ruins with Alexander visiting the Tomb of Achilles von Giuseppe Zocchi wurde im Dezember 2016 in der Auktion Old Masters Day Sale bei Christies in London versteigert.
