The auction ended at the price of EUR 100,000.00, which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of EUR 70,000.00 – 100,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Giuseppe Santomaso - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Settembre alla mancia, which sold at auction in November 2007 for EUR 273,915.20.

Die Arbeit Aspetto del Sud n. I von Giuseppe Santomaso kam im November 2020 bei Christies in Mailand zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von EUR 100.000,00 entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 70.000,00 – 100.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Giuseppe Santomaso mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Settembre alla mancia beobachtet, die im November 2007 für EUR 273.915,20 versteigert wurde.
