Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work Tower Bridge from the Thames, London by Girolamo Pieri Ballati Nerli for GBP 3,750.00 (€ 3,938.59). This price was achieved in the auction Modern and Contemporary Australian and South African Art at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Girolamo Pieri Ballati Nerli achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Port Philip Foreshore in May 2005 with an auction result of AUD 86,040.00 (€ 52,889.27).
