Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Madonna And Child With Two Angels by Giovanni di Marco was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in June 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 74,500.00 (€ 58,809.60). Admittedly, works by Giovanni di Marco have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Seven Virtues in April 2016 with an auction result of USD 557,000.00 (€ 486,845.56).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Madonna And Child With Two Angels von Giovanni di Marco im Juni 2012 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 74.500,00 (€ 58.809,60) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Giovanni di Marco auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Seven Virtues im April 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 557.000,00 (€ 486.845,56).
